Project Manager - Transmission & Distribution (T&D)
Matchtech are supporting a key client with the requisition of a Project Manager within the T&D sector. The Project Manager will manage, direct, and coordinate all aspects of work related to T&D projects. The Project Manager will be responsible for the profit and loss of individual projects, the successful completion of projects within agreed dates, and establishing and maintaining a professional relationship with the clients, subcontractors, regulatory agencies, and all other stakeholders. The Project Manager is expected to establish, maintain, and proactively grow client relationships into repeat business and expanded service offerings. Key Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of T&D projects including planning, engineering, permitting, procurement, construction, and closeout.
- Oversee siting, environmental activities, right-of-way acquisition, project controls, constructability reviews, and material management.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, cost forecasts, and accruals.
- Manage project scope, risk, change control, and resource requirements.
- Own project financial performance and reporting.
- Act as the primary client contact throughout project delivery.
- Prepare proposals, support presentations, and participate in contract negotiations.
- Lead project communications across clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Develop and implement project execution plans, procedures, and controls.
- Ensure compliance with client requirements and internal QA/QC standards.
- Report project progress, cost and schedule performance, procurement issues, safety concerns, and key risks.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams across multiple workstreams.
- Support recruitment, training, and mentoring within the Transmission team.
- Contribute to business development, account growth, client prospecting, and market development initiatives.
- Travel to client and project sites as required.
Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Program Management, or a related discipline.
- 7+ years' project management experience within construction, engineering, or infrastructure environments.
- Alternatively, 8+ years' relevant experience including 3+ years managing EPC projects within the Transmission & Distribution sector.
- Additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree qualifications.
- Experience within energy, utilities, T&D, oil & gas, manufacturing, aviation, government, commercial, process, or water sectors preferred.
- Demonstrated experience managing project scope, budgets, schedules, deliverables, and client relationships.
- Experience supporting proposal development and contract negotiations.
- Experience producing transmission design and construction documentation.
- Knowledge of NESC requirements and relevant industry codes and standards.
Technical Skills
- Strong project controls, document control, scheduling, and cost management experience.
- Familiarity with project management software and reporting tools.
- Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access.

Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Ability to achieve company certification as an EPC Project Manager and/or Program Manager.
Other Requirements
- Valid driver's licence and ability to meet company driving requirements.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly to client and project locations.
