Founded in 1979, Mattina Mechanical Limited (MML) is a leading mechanical contractor specializing in industrial, commercial, and institutional construction projects throughout Ontario. Our success is built on quality work, investment in our people, strong client relationships, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
As a Shipping & Receiving Coordinator, you will play a critical role in supporting shop operations by ensuring materials, equipment, and fabricated assemblies move efficiently through the organization. Your attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to quality will directly contribute to successful project execution and customer satisfaction.
Picture Yourself as a Shipping & Receiving Coordinator at MML
Imagine starting your day in a busy fabrication shop where incoming materials, outgoing deliveries, and production schedules all depend on your ability to keep things moving. You know exactly where materials are, what shipments are arriving, and which projects need support. At Mattina Mechanical Limited, you'll be at the centre of shop logistics and operations.
- You're the first line of quality control. As materials arrive, you carefully inspect deliveries against purchase orders, packing slips, and material certifications. You identify discrepancies before they become costly project issues and ensure only the right materials make their way into production.
- You're keeping fabrication moving. You work closely with fabrication leads and shop management to ensure materials are available when needed. Whether you're expediting a shipment, coordinating a delivery, or tracking inventory, your efforts help keep projects on schedule.
- You're the logistics expert. You coordinate outbound shipments, prepare shipping documentation, schedule carriers, and ensure completed fabrications arrive safely at their destination. From local deliveries to cross-border shipments, you help ensure every order reaches the right place at the right time.
- You're hands-on and solutions-focused. No two days look exactly alike. One moment you're unloading incoming materials using a forklift, and the next you're updating inventory records or resolving a shipment discrepancy. You thrive in a fast-paced environment where organization and adaptability are essential.
- You're committed to accuracy and accountability. You understand that every packing slip, bill of lading, and material certification matters. Your attention to detail supports inventory accuracy, quality assurance requirements, project traceability, and operational excellence.
Is This the Right Role for You?
If you're an organized, detail-oriented shipping and receiving professional who takes pride in keeping materials, equipment, and projects moving efficiently, and you're ready to step into a role where your expertise truly matters; this is your moment. You'll thrive here if you:
- Have 2–4 years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehousing, inventory control, or logistics, preferably in an industrial, manufacturing, fabrication, or construction environment.
- Hold a valid forklift operator certification and are comfortable working in an active shop environment.
- Prioritize health and safety in all areas of work because everyone deserves to go home safely.
- Are comfortable using ERP systems, inventory management software, and Microsoft Office.
- Have experience in freight coordination, customs documentation, material certifications, or TDG requirements, or are eager to expand your knowledge in these areas.
- Ability to meet the bona fide occupational requirements (BFORs) of the position.
