Role Description The Engineering Manager will oversee engineering activities for construction projects, ensuring technical quality, compliance with standards, and alignment with project objectives. This full-time, hybrid role is based in Mississauga, ON, with a combination of on-site coordination and work-from-home flexibility. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading and mentoring engineering and technical teams, reviewing designs and specifications, coordinating with project managers, architects, and subcontractors, and supporting integration of engineering solutions into overall project plans. The role involves monitoring project progress, resolving technical issues, optimizing processes, and contributing to resource planning and budgeting. The Engineering Manager will also help drive continuous improvement, support risk management, and promote a culture of safety, collaboration, and accountability across project teams.
Qualifications
- Strong Engineering Management experience, including oversight of multidisciplinary technical teams and engineering deliverables.
- Demonstrated Team Leadership skills, with the ability to mentor, coach, and develop engineers and technical staff.
- Background in Construction Engineering or engineering-related disciplines, with an understanding of complex construction assemblies and systems
- Proven Project Management capabilities in planning, scheduling, budgeting, and coordinating complex construction or industrial projects.
- Experience with Integration of engineering, design, and construction processes, ensuring cohesive solutions across stakeholders and disciplines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (civil, structural, mechanical, or related field); professional engineering designation (P.Eng.) or eligibility is preferred.
- Experience in the ICI sector, with exposure to pharmaceutical, industrial, or institutional projects considered an asset.
- Knowledge of Canadian building codes, standards, and construction regulations, with a strong focus on safety and quality.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment.
- Proficiency with project and engineering tools (e.g., CAD/BIM software, project management platforms) and comfort with technology-driven workflows.
