Location: Coquitlam, BC
Expected Salary Range: $105,000 - $135,000 per year
Responsibilities:
- Lead the organization's accounting and finance functions, ensuring accurate and timely financial operations
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, including the preparation and review of financial statements
- Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, cash flow projections, and variance analyses
- Provide financial insights, reporting, and recommendations to support operational and strategic decision-making
- Maintain effective internal controls, financial policies, and compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate external audits, prepare supporting documentation, and serve as the primary contact for auditors
- Monitor cash management activities, banking relationships, and treasury functions
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve reporting capabilities, and enhance financial systems
- Collaborate with department leaders on budgeting, financial planning, and performance management initiatives
- Supervise and mentor finance team members, fostering a high standard of accuracy, accountability, and professional growth
- Additional tasks and projects, as required
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline
- CPA designation is a requirement
- Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities
- Strong background in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and audit coordination
- Solid understanding of Canadian accounting principles, internal controls, and financial compliance requirements
- Strong proficiency with MS Office – specifically Excel along with accounting software and ERP systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Team-oriented approach with the ability to excel in collaborative environments
- Valid BC driver’s license with access to a vehicle, and the ability to travel within BC on occasion is required
