The Position
The Sr. Quality Assurance Lead reports to the Manager, Quality Assurance. The Sr. QA Lead is responsible for providing direct support and guidance to business pursuits and program projects, maintaining and assuring conformance to MDA Space Geointelligence’s ISO 9001:2015 certified Company Quality System (CQS), and otherwise enabling company adherence to the Quality Policy.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities fall under three key functions:
- Programmatic independent reporting and support
- Technical solution alignment
- Quality system maintenance and support
- Programmatic Support and Independent Reporting
- Support contract negotiations – identify applicable quality clauses.
- Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate QA activities; support tailoring of processes to pursuit/project needs.
- Author Quality Assurance Plans and ensure appropriate stakeholder involvement.
- Act as quality liaison with customers, subcontractors and suppliers
- Review pursuit/project plans for compliance with customer and Company Quality System(CQS) requirements
- Plan, conduct and report project and supplier audits per the Universal Audit Schedule (UAS)
- Lead or support preparation for, conduct of, and follow‑up to customer audits.
- Manage subcontractor/supplier qualification, risk identification, control and performance monitoring.
- Open non‑conformance records and drive closed‑loop corrective‑action.
- Oversee projects to ensure CQS implementation, facilitate lessons‑learned, and attend risk‑review and milestone meetings.
- Provide status reports and escalate quality concerns through the prescribed path
2.Technical Solution Alignment
- Assure that solution requirements are addressed in design, implementation, integration and V&V activities.
- Assure configuration of deliverables is defined and controlled.
- Lead and/or supports the establishment and conduct of quality inspections
- Lead equipment calibration activities for the assigned projects.
- Work with technical leads to define integration inputs and associated verification/validation activities.
- Participate in Change Control Boards (CCBs) and Material Review Boards (MRBs)
- Lead and/or support the conduct of independent test witnessing as required
- Review and approve technical documentation from a QA perspective
- Quality System Maintenance and Support
- Plan, conduct and report system (process) audits per the Universal Audit Schedule and applicable standards.
- Initiates non‑conformance records and drive closed‑loop corrective‑action
- Contribute to continual improvement of MDA Space’s Quality System – lead process‑improvement activities and support related training.
- Assist the Process Specialist with business‑process change management.
- Stay current on QA best practices and apply new knowledge where appropriate.
Requirements (experience/skills)
- Post‑secondary degree in Science or Engineering (or equivalent) + 8+ years relevant experience
- Proven experience in software QA within agile/DevSecOps environments; mission‑critical systems a plus.
- 3-5 years conducting Internal Quality Audits under an ISO 9001:2015 (or equivalent); Lead Quality Auditor certification preferred.
- Hands‑on experience working with ISO 9001:2015 (or AS‑9100‑D) requirements within a CQS.
- Experience with configuration management, equipment calibration, and verification & validation processes for hardware‑software integrated solutions.
- Experience working with Microsoft SharePoint based content management system considered an asset
- Experience working with ERP systems is required

- Ability to work effectively in a team and liaise with stakeholders at all levels.

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level and higher, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).

The compensation range for this position is $108K- $135K annually. The specific compensation offered will be based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
