Role Summary
To support our Communication and Marketing team, we are looking for a
Graphic Designer who is creative, detail-oriented, and experienced in developing high-quality visual content for corporate, marketing, and communication purposes. This is a
full-time, in-office, permanent position based in our
Toronto office.
As a Graphic Designer, You Will
- Work closely with senior graphic designers and internal stakeholders to develop marketing and communication materials in line with MDPI's corporate brand guidelines and visual identity;
- Create and adapt a wide range of visual assets, including presentations, digital banners, social media graphics, newsletter banners, brochures, flyers, advertisements, event materials, and other communication materials;
- Develop and adapt templates and existing design assets while maintaining consistency across different formats and channels;
- Manage assigned design projects from initial brief through to final delivery, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met;
- Prepare artwork for both digital and print production while following relevant technical specifications;
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail across typography, layout, imagery, colour, branding, and technical requirements;
- Maintain organized working files, templates, and design assets in accordance with team standards and processes.
Requirements
Education
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Multimedia Design, or a related field is required.
Skills and Experience
- 2–5 years of professional experience in a graphic design or similar position;
- Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop;
- Experience with After Effects is an asset;
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications;
- Strong understanding of visual design principles, typography, layout, imagery, colour, and branding;
- Experience creating materials for both digital and print formats;
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy across design deliverables;
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple design requests and deadlines;
- Strong interpersonal and intercultural communication skills;
- Team player with a collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively with senior designers and internal stakeholders;
- Adaptable and open to feedback, with a willingness to refine designs based on stakeholder requirements;
- Professional experience working within established brand guidelines and design systems is an asset.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is
$49,400–$52,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. MDPI Canada also offers a comprehensive benefits package in accordance with company policies.
Training & Development
As a successful candidate, you will work closely with the Graphic Design Lead and senior members of the design team to become familiar with MDPI's corporate brand guidelines, visual identity, design systems, templates, and internal processes.
You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of corporate, marketing, communication, and event-related design projects while developing your skills across both digital and print formats.
