Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Grande Prairie, AB, for Electrical Journeypersons and Electrical Apprentices. Team members will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment used in oil and gas operations, following applicable codes, standards, and company procedures. Daily tasks include reading and interpreting electrical drawings, performing wiring and terminations, conducting inspections and testing, and documenting work performed. The role involves collaborating with supervisors and other trades, supporting project planning and execution, and contributing to a strong safety culture by following all HSE policies and participating in safety meetings and training.
Qualifications
- Relevant electrical trade certification (Journeyperson status or registered Electrical Apprentice) and eligibility to work in Alberta.
- Experience with industrial electrical systems, preferably in oil and gas or similar heavy industry, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Solid understanding of Canadian Electrical Code, occupational health and safety regulations, and safe work practices.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Comfort working in field conditions, including remote sites, and willingness to work varying shifts or overtime as required.
- Effective communication skills and a commitment to transparent, accountable work practices.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record; safety tickets such as CSTS, H2S Alive, and First Aid are considered assets.
