Headquartered in San Francisco, our investors include <strong>Benchmark</strong>, <strong>General Catalyst</strong>, <strong>Peter Thiel</strong>, <strong>Adam D'Angelo</strong>, <strong>Larry Summers</strong>, and <strong>Jack Dorsey</strong>.</p> <p><strong>Position:</strong> Senior Multiline Claims Examiner<br/> <strong>Type:</strong> <strong>Contract</strong><br/> <strong>Compensation:</strong> <strong>$80/hour</strong><br/> <strong>Location:</strong> <strong>Remote</strong><br/> <strong>Commitment:</strong> <strong>20?40 hours/week</strong></p> <p><strong>Role Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Design realistic claims scenarios involving first notice of loss, coverage verification, investigation, documentation, reserving, damage evaluation, negotiation, settlement, subrogation, salvage, and closure.</li> <li>Create work products such as claim action plans, coverage analyses, investigation requests, evaluation summaries, settlement recommendations, and insured communications.</li> <li>Write "golden" reference responses at experienced claims-professional quality.</li> <li>Grade AI-generated responses against structured rubrics for factual accuracy, policy application, claim-handling judgment, and procedural completeness.</li> <li>Identify premature conclusions, missing investigative steps, unsupported valuations, improper communications, and failures to distinguish covered damage from excluded or unrelated loss.</li> <li>Provide written feedback the research team uses to improve model behavior.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p> <p><strong>Must-Have</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>2+ years</strong> of professional P&C claims handling, adjusting, or examining experience.</li> <li>Independently handled claims in at least one area, such as property, auto physical damage, bodily injury, general liability, commercial casualty, catastrophe, or specialty claims.</li> <li>Understand the claim lifecycle from intake and investigation through evaluation, resolution, recovery, and closure.</li> <li>Can read and apply policy language to claim facts while recognizing when escalation is required.</li> <li>Demonstrate excellent written analysis, balanced judgment, and high attention to detail.</li> <li>Can distinguish ordinary claim adjudication from complex coverage, litigation, regulatory, and actuarial work.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>AIC</strong>, <strong>CPCU</strong>, <strong>SCLA</strong>, or comparable insurance designation.</li> <li>Multiline or multistate claims experience.</li> <li>Catastrophe, represented bodily injury, litigation, subrogation, SIU, or large-loss exposure.</li> <li>Experience supervising independent adjusters, experts, vendors, or defense counsel.</li> <li>Active or previously held adjuster license.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Start Date</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Immediately</strong>; applications reviewed on a rolling basis.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Compensation & Legal</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Hourly contractor</strong></li> <li>Paid <strong>$800</strong> upon successful completion of onboarding.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Application Process (Takes 20?30 mins to complete)</strong></p> <ul> <li>Upload resume</li> <li>AI interview based on your resume</li> <li>Submit form</li> </ul> <p><strong>Resources & Support</strong></p> <ul> <li>For details about the interview process and platform information, please check: https://talent.docs.mercor.com/welcome</li> <li>For any help or support, reach out to: support@mercor.com</li> </ul> <p><em>PS: Our team reviews applications daily.
