$27.80/hourMiles HR is recruiting on behalf of our client, a Vancouver-based non-profit organization, for a Gift Processing Assistant to join their fundraising team on a fixed-term contract. This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with donation or transaction-processing experience to support a high-impact fundraising organization through a busy giving season.
About the Role
Reporting to the Gift Processing team, the successful candidate will play a key role in accurately and efficiently processing donations, ensuring donors receive timely acknowledgement and CRA-compliant tax receipts, and maintaining the integrity of donor records in the organization's CRM (Salesforce).
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare donation information received by mail for processing, including sorting and scanning mail into internal systems.
- Receive and process cash, cheque, credit card, and wire transfer donations in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Prepare cash and cheques for bank deposit and process credit card payments while maintaining cash controls.
- Enter gift details into batches and commit gifts into the organization's CRM, ensuring accurate documentation and timely follow-up.
- Issue tax receipts in accordance with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) rules, regulations, and guidelines.
- Process monthly donor giving program payments, including updates to gift records and payment methods.
- Reconcile monthly gift records and follow up with donors on declined payments by phone or email.
- Support data quality initiatives to keep donor and gift information complete and accurate.
- Provide occasional front desk coverage and related administrative support.
What You Bring
- Ability to process a high volume of transactions with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple, changing priorities under tight timeframes.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proactive, responsible customer service approach and a collaborative, team-oriented working style.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Salesforce is an asset.
- Working knowledge of CRA receipting rules and regulations is an asset.
