Role Description The Store Manager role is a full-time, on-site position based in Toronto, ON. The Store Manager oversees daily store operations, including staff scheduling, task assignment, visual merchandising, inventory control, and cash handling. This role leads, coaches, and motivates the store team to deliver outstanding customer service, drive sales, and maintain high standards of store presentation and cleanliness. The Store Manager monitors key performance indicators, implements company initiatives, and ensures compliance with policies, including loss prevention and safety procedures. The role also involves resolving customer concerns, supporting hiring and training of team members, and fostering an inclusive, engaging work environment.
Qualifications
- Strong customer-facing skills, including Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction, with a focus on creating positive, memorable shopping experiences.
- Effective Communication skills to provide clear direction to team members, collaborate with leadership, and interact confidently with customers.
- Proven Store Management experience in retail, including staff supervision, workflow planning, and day-to-day operational oversight.
- Knowledge of Retail Loss Prevention practices, including monitoring risk, ensuring adherence to procedures, and promoting a culture of awareness.
- Experience in a specialty or hobby retail environment, with interest in games, collectibles, and pop culture considered an asset.
- Ability to lead and develop diverse teams, make data-informed decisions, and work in a fast-paced setting with shifting priorities.
- Comfort with basic point-of-sale systems, inventory tools, and reporting; strong numeracy and attention to detail.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Previous supervisory or management experience in retail strongly preferred; post-secondary education in business or related field is an asset.
