Levitate HR Strategies Inc. has partnered with Miramichi Safe Harbor Services in their search for a Sexual Violence Coordinator.
The Sexual Violence Coordinator reports to the Executive Director of Miramichi Safe Harbor Services and delivers specialized, survivor-centered navigation, systems advocacy, and crisis support to adults of all genders affected by sexual violence. This role actively collaborates with all MSHS programs including Domestic Violence Outreach, the Transition House, and Second Stage Housing. Within this collaborative framework, the execution of Sexual Violence Services (SVS) protocols always maintains absolute operational priority, with cross-program accompaniment offered to secondary MSHS streams as time and capacity permit.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
Sexual Violence Operations
Intake & Triage: Receive disclosures or formal complaints, conduct initial inquiries or triage as authorized, and coordinate appropriate internal or external referrals (to counselors, legal aid, or medical services). Complete comprehensive needs assessments and design individualized system navigation plans for male, female, and non-binary survivors.
Survivor Support & Case Management: Provide confidential, one-on-one trauma-informed support, intake, safety planning, and system navigation for individuals affected by sexual or gender-based violence.
Education & Prevention: Design, coordinate, and deliver campus-or community-wide workshops,
training sessions (such as bystander intervention and consent education), and awareness campaigns.
Collaboration & Advocacy: Partner with internal departments (equity offices, campus security, human resources) and external community resources (rape crisis centers, local police, shelters) to foster a safe environment.
Confidential Database Management: Maintain meticulous, encrypted, and audit-ready client case files and statistical intake logs.
Grant & Statistics Reporting: Prepare precise statistical extractions and narrative progress reports for the Board, Executive Director, and external funders.
Clinical Portfolio Administration: Oversee counseling program tracking, process independent counselor invoices, and manage client session allocations.
Cross-Program Collaboration
Primacy of Sexual Violence Services (SVS) Portfolio: Maintain SVS navigation, volunteer management, and SARRT building as your primary operational mandate and scheduling anchor.
Cross-Program Accompaniment Support: As time and SVS caseload capacity allow, offer secondary accompaniment support to clients within other MSHS programs.
Collaborative Systems Accompaniment: Provide physical accompaniment and trauma informed support for shared clients attending intensive legal, court, medical, or provincial housing appointments, maximizing the agency’s collective footprint.
Inter-Program Consultation: Serve as a specialized sexual violence consulting resource for domestic
violence outreach (DVO) and shelter staff when they are supporting clients of any gender facing
intersecting domestic and sexual trauma.
Seamless Referral Loops: Coordinate with the Lead DV Outreach Worker to implement shared, genderinclusive screening tools, ensuring smooth warm-transfers between programs without duplicate intakes.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Gender and Sexuality Studies, Law, or a related field; a Master's degree OR professional certification is an asset.
Experience: Generally 2 to 5 years of progressive experience in crisis intervention, trauma-informed support, advocacy, or violence-prevention programming.
