Mission Critical Engineers (MCE) is a Toronto-based independent commissioning authority (CxA) specializing in data centers and critical facilities.
We are PEng-licensed and owner-side. On every commissioning engagement, we carry no design or construction stake - our only obligation is to the owner and the specification.
Our work covers the full commissioning lifecycle - from factory acceptance testing and pre-functional checklists through functional performance testing and integrated system testing at full load. We commission the complete critical infrastructure stack: power distribution, standby generation, UPS and battery systems, liquid and air cooling, BMS and controls, fire suppression, and life safety. We work across all scales, from enterprise edge deployments to 500 MW+ AI hyperscale campuses.
MCE also provides engineering design services for data centers and critical facilities - on projects where we hold no commissioning role. The two service lines are deliberately kept separate. That separation is not a limitation; it is the point.
MCE operates its forensic engineering practice under the trade name Mission Critical Forensics. The practice serves insurers, legal counsel, and property owners across industries - investigating failures, losses, and incidents involving electrical and mechanical systems for insurance claim resolution, litigation support, and dispute resolution. Expert witness services are available for cases requiring qualified engineering testimony.
Forensic engineering and expert witness services are featured on the Mission Critical Forensics showcase page - find it linked from our LinkedIn homepage.
