Job Summary: Responsible for ensuring Martinrea and customer quality requirements are met by identifying and providing input to resolve welding concerns.
Required Qualifications
- Strong communicator in the English language, both written and oral
- Post secondary education-completion of Welding Tech course from a community college.
- Minimum 3-4 years of experience in a similar role
- Sound understanding of welding metallurgy
- Must have good interpersonal and communication skills
- Good problem-solving skills
- Must be willing to work shifts and be flexible (including overtime on short notice)
- Ability to work well with fellow team members
Critical Success Factors
- Abide by all company polices including, but not limited to the following; Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems
- Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards and legislation including Environmental Legislation, O. Reg 851 for Industrial Establishments, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act
Responsibilities
- Resolve all welding concerns with quality, safety and efficiency
- Contribute to continuous improvement and cost reduction activities
- Support buy off's when required
- Establish, maintain and implement welding parameters to support production and Quality assurance
- Maintain a sound understanding of customers product and engineering specifications
- Participate in problem solving activities
- Provide support to all Departments for weld related issues
Working Conditions
- 100% plant floor (PPE required)
Employee Relations
- Communicate effectively with employees and management staff as required
- Perform compulsory overtime as necessary and in accordance with legislative requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor
- Comply, ensure and enforce Rules of Conduct (Sign off agreement) in your hire package
- Provide and/or participate in training as required
- Comply with company rules, regulations and policies as stated in the Employee Handbook
- Comply with the Employee Standards Act, 2000

Health And Safety Responsibilities
- Must comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) particularly the "Duties of Workers" as stated in section 28
- Must comply with Company Rules, Plant Rules, policies and procedures according to Martinrea Employee Handbook
- Must use/wear equipment, personal protective equipment or certain clothing as required by the company
- Comply with Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB)
- Comply with Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
- Always beware of moving lift trucks
- All employees are prohibited from working under dies which are suspended from hoists, cranes or forklifts
Quality Assurance
- Report any deficiencies in systems, facilities, machinery, equipment and/or tools immediately to your supervisor
- Record and/or report product damage/nonconformities to your supervisor as required
- Comply with Quality Assurance policies and procedures
- Participate and contribute to effective production efficiency
