Role Description This full-time Mortgage Agent role is based in Mississauga, ON and follows a hybrid work model, combining in-office collaboration with some work-from-home flexibility. The Mortgage Agent will consult with clients to assess their financial goals, explain mortgage options, and recommend suitable lending solutions. Daily responsibilities include gathering and verifying client documentation, submitting mortgage applications, liaising with lenders, and tracking files from initial inquiry through to closing. The role also involves maintaining ongoing client relationships, following up on leads, and supporting clients with renewals, refinances, and mortgage transfers. The Mortgage Agent will collaborate with internal colleagues, participate in local marketing initiatives, and stay current on industry products, rates, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Experience in the mortgage industry, with a strong understanding of residential mortgages and related financial products.
- Knowledge of mortgage servicing processes, including documentation, compliance, and end-to-end file management.
- Familiarity with mortgage lending practices, underwriting guidelines, and lender programs.
- Skills in mortgage marketing, lead generation, and building a personal book of business.
- Valid mortgage agent or broker license in Ontario, or eligibility and willingness to obtain required licensing.
- Strong client relationship and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in clear, accessible language.
- Proficiency with digital tools, CRM systems, and basic office software to manage client information and workflows.
- High level of integrity, accountability, and commitment to providing unbiased, client-focused advice.
- Self-motivated and organized, able to manage multiple files and timelines in a hybrid work environment.
- Previous experience in financial services, banking, or real estate is an asset.
