Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Mortgage Assistant role based in Brampton, ON. The Mortgage Assistant supports mortgage brokers with daily administrative tasks, including preparing and processing mortgage applications, gathering client documentation, and maintaining accurate records in internal systems. The role involves communicating with clients, lenders, and other stakeholders to obtain information, clarify requirements, and provide updates on application status. The Mortgage Assistant helps review loan files for completeness, follows up on outstanding conditions, and ensures adherence to regulatory and company guidelines. Additional responsibilities include scheduling appointments, managing email and phone inquiries, and contributing to an efficient, service-focused office environment.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of the mortgage industry, including basic understanding of mortgage products and lending processes.
- Strong communication and customer service skills to interact professionally with clients, brokers, and lenders.
- Experience or familiarity with loans and mortgage lending, including documentation and eligibility requirements.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills for managing multiple files, deadlines, and follow-ups.
- Proficiency with office software (e.g., MS Office, CRM or loan origination systems) and comfortable working with digital records.
- Ability to work on-site in Brampton, ON, collaborating effectively within a team-oriented brokerage environment.
- High level of integrity, discretion, and respect for confidentiality when handling client financial information.
- Previous experience in financial services, banking, or mortgage administration is an asset; post-secondary education in business, finance, or a related field is beneficial.
