Men are dying too young - and it doesn’t have to be that way.
Around the world, men are facing a health crisis: prostate cancer, testicular cancer, poor mental health and suicide. At Movember we’re on a mission to change the face of men’s health by making it easier for men to talk, act and live longer healthier lives.
Every project, every campaign, every idea adds up to real change. You’ll be part of a mustache-powered crew who believe making an impact and having fun should go hand in hand. Your mission is calling.
DO GOOD. Work for Movember.
Your Mo-Mission (should You Choose To Accept It)
Most program roles come with one clear remit. This one comes with two, and the second is genuinely rare.
As Manager, Mental Health, Canada, you’ll lead the in-market delivery of Movember’s mental health programs across Canada, to time, quality, and budget. But alongside that, you’ll hold global accountability as Global Lead for the Global Youth Advisory Network, driving its multi-year growth and long-term sustainability across all of Movember’s markets. Canadian delivery is the baseline. The global youth advisory lead is what sets this role apart.
On the Canadian side, you’ll operationalise approved implementation plans across the full portfolio: sport-health, esports and gaming, community, research, online, grant delivery, and youth advisory. You’ll build strategic and delivery partnerships, hold accountability for program outcomes against agreed KPIs, manage in-market budgets including forecasting, variance reporting, and reallocation recommendations, and lead, mentor, and coach a growing team.
On the global youth advisory side, you’ll be Movember’s external lead, representing the organisation with funders, government, partners, and sector bodies. You’ll own governance, terms of reference, and the recruitment, remuneration, and duty of care of young advisors and alumni across markets. You’ll manage the Canadian youth advisory directly, partnering with a delivery organisation to recruit and facilitate Mo-YAC Canada, run co-design activity, and feed market insight into the global function. And you’ll embed youth lived experience into portfolio design and investment decisions across all markets, influencing colleagues who sit outside your reporting line.
This is a role for someone who can hold both of these responsibilities simultaneously, without either becoming a secondary priority. You’ll need the credibility to represent Movember, the operational rigour to run complex multi-program implementation, and a genuine commitment to the belief that young men deserve better mental health support than they currently get. This is a two-year fixed term contract due to an internal secondment/ promotion.
No Moustache Required - But The Following Are
- At least four years of experience in program or portfolio implementation, including a sustained period of accountability for a defined strategy, function, or market.
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as public health, health promotion, social sciences, or program and project management, or equivalent occupational experience.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and influence with minimal direct line authority across geographies and functions, and to represent Movember externally at a senior level with funders, government, and advisory bodies.
- Sound understanding of men’s and young men’s mental health and the broader health sector.
- Demonstrated budget accountability and investment recommendation experience, including contract management, negotiation, and strong commercial and policy acumen.
- Safeguarding practice and demonstrated experience working with young people in an advisory or co-design capacity, which is essential for the Youth Advisory accountability.
Not Mission Critical - But For Extra Bonus Points
- Understanding and experience of grant management, and of organised sport, esports, and online community settings.
- Experience in the mental health, organised sport, education and training, or not-for-profit sectors.
- Bilingual in English and French, which is an asset for the Canadian market.
Good Cause
Working for Movember, you’ll help turn ideas (and moustaches) into millions for men’s health. Every bit we raise changes the face of men’s health by funding research, improving treatments, and supporting programs that help save lives.
We’re even shaping government policies on men’s health worldwide. By meeting directly with lawmakers, and helping them understand how more investment on men’s health benefits not just men, but all the communities they serve.
Good Vibes
We love weekends. That’s why our Fridays finish early for nine months of the year. But we also love our office vibe. Because here, it always feels like something big is about to happen. Be it an office-wide surprise birthday party (with cake!) or an open invite for all to hit the pub.
Come the hairy season, the energy cranks up. We’re talking celebrity visits. Live stunts on-site for TV and radio. And when we hit a fundraising milestone, the office gong might even go off. But, for those who prefer calm, no probs: hybrid working means you work where you feel best.
Good Crew
Spoiler alert: we’re a no-ego, all-impact crew. That means everyone gets a say, from new starters to those leading the charge. Collaboration over hierarchies, curiosity over rigid process. And it’s true across all our offices worldwide. We work as one, sharing expertise and celebrating wins. All in the name of making the biggest impact across the globe. United, we Mo.
Boy, do we know the feeling of being judged. (Over how we look, and other things that shouldn’t matter.) Being different is how we started. And it’s also helped us raise $1 billion for men’s health. So, we know the power of diverse experiences, skills and perspectives.
Movember is committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive community and workplace - a place where we can all be ourselves, and each have the equal opportunity to succeed and be recognised for our unique contribution. We value the experiences, skills and perspectives of all individuals and actively encourage applications from people with diverse backgrounds. We make recruitment decisions based on applicants’ skills, experience, and knowledge, ensuring all applicants are treated fairly. Reasonable accommodations are also available on request for differently abled candidates taking part in all aspects of the selection process.
A quick note on AI
We use our AI mate
Joel to help with the first stage of screening. It lets more great candidates move past the application stage and into the process faster. Don’t worry though, real humans make all the final decisions. And if you’d rather skip Joel and chat with a recruiter instead, you’ll always have that option.
Do you want to DO GOOD?
If so, we’d love to hear from you.
