Role Description The Executive Director is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of the Muskoka Lakes Chamber of Commerce. This role based is in Bala, ON, overseeing operations, member services, and community engagement. Daily tasks include managing staff and volunteers, coordinating programs and events, overseeing budgets and financial reporting, and implementing strategies to support local businesses. The Executive Director serves as the primary liaison with members, municipal partners, and community organizations, representing the Chamber at meetings, public events, and in media communications. The role also involves developing marketing and communication initiatives, preparing reports for the Board of Directors, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and applicable regulations.

Qualifications
- Leadership and management experience, including supervising teams, coordinating volunteers, and overseeing day-to-day operations.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present to groups, build relationships with stakeholders, and represent the Chamber professionally in public forums.
- Experience in business development, economic development, or community engagement, preferably within a nonprofit, association, or municipal setting.
- Proficiency in office software, digital communication tools, and basic financial management (budgeting, reporting, and record-keeping).
- Demonstrated ability to plan and execute events, programs, and initiatives that support member needs and community objectives.
- Post-secondary education in business, public administration, communications, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of the Muskoka Lakes region and its business community is an asset.
