Position Title: Site Manager
Job Status: Full-time
Reports To: General Manager & Chief Operating Officer
Hours/Week: 40 hours/week with flexibility
Compensation: Salary hiring range $63,000-$68,000 annually, plus Benefits incl. 3 Weeks Vacation, Free Parking, 50% Off Meals
JOB PURPOSE:
The Site Manager is an integral, full-time role at National Yacht Club responsible for the general maintenance, upkeep and improvement of the clubhouse, property/yard, mooring basin and larger projects. The incumbent demonstrates a strong work ethic, self manages, works well independently, has excellent skills in construction and general maintenance, can multi-task, has a dedication to customer service, and will help to maintain and grow National Yacht Club through its mission, vision and values. The job requires the incumbent to operate equipment such as forklifts and tractors. The incumbent reports directly to the General Manager & Chief Operating Officer and has a strong working relationship with other staff, Board members, and committee chairs.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Yard
- Daily garbage & recycling collection
- Daily clean-up as needed based on Club scheduled events/activities, weather, and cleaning schedule
- Operate heavy equipment such as a forklift/tractor (license required)
- General maintenance for gardens, parking lot, equipment sheds, assets like tools, tents, etc
- Lawn maintenance, winterizing, power washing, some salting and shoveling
- Delegate tasks to seasonal dock staff in summer months
- Maintain inventories of fuel, propane, and order as required
- Maintain MSDS sheets, records of chemical disposal, labelling of chemicals
- Other duties as assigned
Clubhouse
- Work with cleaning staff to ensure the building and dining room is maintained
- General maintenance fixes related to plumbing, electrical, carpentry, welding, gardening, HVAC, painting
- In cooperation with the General Manager locate, coordinate and supervise all repair contractors as they relate to all areas of responsibility
- Maintain MSDS sheets
- Other duties as assigned
Mooring Basin
- In conjunction with volunteers, general maintenance fixes related to docks, water leaks, weeding, collection
- Maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment by promptly removing waste and other debris from club grounds and waterfront areas, as required
- Other duties as assigned
Events
- Work with staff and various committees to set-up and take down all required furniture and accessories required for all special events, functions and programs.
- Willingness to work an adjusted schedule depending on some major events throughout the year (example: regattas, launch, haul-out, etc)
Project Management
- Identify areas where improvement can be made with equipment, processes, procedures
- Identify and complete medium-large cleaning projects
- Refresh equipment like tables, chairs, decking, picnic tables, etc
- Seasonal projects in the Yard or Clubhouse like launch, haul-out, painting, landscaping, etc
- Other relevant projects
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven ability to provide basic to medium facility maintenance
- General technical knowledge and training/skill in areas of plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry and HVAC
- Valid G drivers license
- Valid Forklift Operator license (employer willing to work with candidates to get licensed)
- Ability to work on own with little supervision
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs

- Very good interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and in group settings
- Flexibility in working schedules
- Boating or motor experience would be a bonus
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Substantial time spent outdoors in each of the four seasons
