Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Truck Driver role located in Brampton, ON. The Truck Driver will operate company trucks to transport goods safely and efficiently to designated locations, following assigned routes and schedules. Daily responsibilities include performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, securing loads, driving in compliance with all traffic and DOT regulations, and unloading cargo as required. The driver will complete necessary logs and documentation, communicate with dispatch and customers, and report any vehicle issues or delays promptly. The role requires consistent attention to safety, professionalism on the road and at delivery locations, and a commitment to maintaining clean, well-kept equipment.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A license and proven truck driving experience, including operating commercial trucks safely over varying distances.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance requirements, including hours-of-service rules and inspection standards.
- Ability to safely manage loading and unloading tasks, including handling freight and using basic equipment as needed.
- Strong awareness of road safety, defensive driving skills, and the ability to operate trucks in different weather and traffic conditions.
- Clean driving record and ability to pass required background checks and drug/alcohol screening.
- Good communication skills for coordinating with dispatch, customers, and team members; ability to keep accurate logs and paperwork.
- Physical ability to sit for extended periods, climb in and out of trucks, and handle moderate lifting as part of loading and unloading.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a professional attitude; prior experience in regional or long-haul trucking is an asset.
