The Project Controls Advisor II provides expertise in project controls, planning, scheduling, cost control, forecasting, and project execution support. This role is primarily responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing integrated owner and contractor schedules while supporting project controls activities including cost tracking, forecasting, progress measurement, change management, and reporting. The successful candidate will work closely with project teams to ensure effective project planning, performance monitoring, and control processes throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and analyze integrated project schedules using Primavera P6.
- Coordinate project controls activities, including schedule, cost, forecast, progress, and change management support.
- Integrate contractor schedules and perform schedule analysis to identify risks, trends, and opportunities.
- Support development of Project Controls Plans, cost estimates, project procedures, and project approval documentation.
- Monitor project performance and provide reporting, forecasting, and recommendations to project teams.
- Support contract administration and ensure compliance with project controls processes and client requirements.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to continuous improvement of project controls tools and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- 7-13 years of experience in Project Controls, Planning, Scheduling, or Project Services.
- Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6 scheduling software.
- Experience with project cost control, forecasting, reporting, and change management.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of project management and project controls best practices.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience is considered an asset.
- Ability to travel occasionally to project sites within Alberta.
