Job Description & Requirements
These first-time parents are seeking overnight support for their baby in March 2027.
Their Ideal Candidate
- 2+ years of experience with newborn overnight care
- Follows current Canadian safe sleep guidance, and can support with age-appropriate sleep training
- Their goal is to breastfeed, but they are open to moving to combination or formula if circumstances call for it, so it’d be good to have someone who is comfortable with different feeding approaches
- Because this is their first baby, they especially value someone who enjoys teaching. They would like coaching in the first week (diapering, soothing, burping, reading hunger cues), a written log of feeds and diapers, and a short handover each morning
- Someone calm, observant and clear about when something needs their attention or a call to their doctor, and who gives view while respecting their decisions
They would also like assistance with baby laundry, and possibly other light tasks when time allows, such as helping to wash and cut vegetables for food prep, etc. (this is a plus, not a dealbreaker).
Their address is in downtown Toronto (Bloor & Spadina). However, they are considering potentially moving in with their parents in North York (Don Mills & Finch) for the first few weeks. Ideally, they would like someone who can be flexible with taking shifts either in North York or downtown. The grandparents of the baby may be around to help. English and Mandarin are the languages spoken in the home. They have no pets. Street parking available.
