The Role
An excellent opportunity for a Band 5 occupational therapist to join our team and work as a member of staff on our comprehensive rotation programme within NHS Lanarkshire Occupational Therapy services in both acute and community settings.
We tailor our rotational opportunities to meet you career development needs, with opportunities to gain experience in a number of acute and community rotations across both North and South Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Partnership.
We are looking for individuals who will provide occupational therapy assessment, treatment, discharge planning and onward referral, facilitating high quality treatment with the interdisciplinary team working in partnership with all agencies providing care and support for diverse patient groups.
This is an ideal position for an occupational therapist wishing to gain experience in a variety of clinical areas. As a rotational occupational therapist, you will be fully supported by senior staff. You will be offered a variety of learning opportunities and be fully involved in the development of the service within your team as well as supporting change and development across the wider Occupational Therapy services across Lanarkshire.
In This Key Role, You Will
- Be responsible for Occupational Therapy triage, assessment and rehabilitation for a defined caseload
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and modify treatment interventions to meet individual patient needs
- Be responsible for the assessment and prescription of equipment to optimise patients’ occupational performance
- Assess capacity to engage in Occupational Therapy. Gain informed consent and work within a legal framework with patients
- Select and utilise standardised and non-standardised assessments and outcome measurement tools
What You'll Bring
- Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Registered Occupational Therapist with valid HCPC Registration
- Knowledge of application of the theory underpinning OT practice
- The post holder will be required to demonstrate excellent team working skills with the ability to work using own initiative
- A driving licence is required; this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
