We're currently working with an established manufacturing organization in the Concord area that is looking to add an experienced Health & Safety Coordinator to their team.
This is a hands-on opportunity for a Health & Safety professional who enjoys working directly with employees and management, taking ownership of safety initiatives, and driving projects and continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment.
What You'll Be Responsible For
- Coordinate and support Health & Safety programs and initiatives across the facility.
- Conduct workplace inspections, audits, hazard assessments, and follow up on corrective actions.
- Coordinate accident and incident investigations and ensure appropriate follow-up.
- Support the Joint Health & Safety Committee and coordinate follow-up on recommendations.
- Deliver Health & Safety training and participate in employee orientations and meetings.
- Coordinate required training and certifications such as WHMIS, Lockout/Tagout and TDG.
- Maintain and update Health & Safety policies, procedures, documentation, and communication materials.
- Support ergonomic, environmental, workplace wellness, and heat stress programs.
- Conduct and support risk assessments for machinery, equipment, and workplace tasks.
- Assist with WSIB claims management and return-to-work programs.
- Coordinate contractor and visitor safety requirements.
- Work with HR, Maintenance, and other departments to identify hazards and improve safety.
- Support regulatory and internal audits and ensure required documentation is maintained.
- Lead and support Health & Safety projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
What We're Looking For
The key requirements are:
✅ 2+ years of Health & Safety experience within a manufacturing environment
✅ Experience in a Coordinator-level or similar H&S role
✅ Strong knowledge of Ontario's Occupational Health & Safety Act and applicable regulations
✅ Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple initiatives and deadlines
✅ Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
✅ Ability to work independently while collaborating with employees and management at all levels
Education & Certifications
- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety, Public Health & Safety, or a related field
- Joint Health & Safety Committee Certified Member
- First Aid & CPR certification
- Internal auditing experience is an asset
- Experience with H&S systems such as HSELinx, Sphera, or SharePoint is an asset
