Noble is looking for a motivated individual to become a Mechanical Superintendent at the BHP Jansen Mine! This individual will help the Noble team develop and maintain the construction sites underground at BHP Jansen.
Mechanical Superintendent:
Under the direction of the Site Superintendent the Mechanical Superintendent is primarily responsible for overseeing the construction of underground conveyance systems at BHP Jansen, as well as the installation of other underground mining components
Schedule: 2 weeks on 2 weeks off rotating between days and nights
Living out allowance or Camp options available
Camp/LOA and travel to be determined
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with the creation and development of work packages for site crews
- Coordinate with client, other contractors, and work scopes to ensure the safe and efficient execution of projects
- Work closely with site planning teams and coordinators to synchronic work packages and ensure material is in place for the execution phase
- Provide daily lineouts and direction to crews on weekly and daily tasks
- Provide daily updates to Site Superintendents and Clients
- Complete schedule and completion reports for project controls
- Reviewing bid packages and assist with preparing proposals
- Know and use lockout procedures and provide guidance to direct reports when needed
- Ensure good housekeeping is being maintained, and ensure all safety regulations are being followed
- Facilitate weekly safety meetings and daily toolbox meetings
- Report and correct any unsafe condition immediately
- Assist with Humane Resource related tasks I.E. Hiring, promotions and disciplinary items
- Be professional and confidential
- Have a positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Be highly organized with a strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Is self-motivated with the ability to multitask, work independently, prioritize and plan workloads effectively
- Have a willingness and ability to learn new methods and systems
- Proven ability to demonstrate time management and organizational skills
Safety:
- Conduct and participate in the following exercises
- Safety meetings
- Tool box talks
- Site inspections
- Incident investigations
- Ensure all employees are working to the highest standard of safety at all times
- Assist in the development of all related JHA forms
- Ensure all equipment is maintained and in good working order
Required Qualifications:
- Conveyance and belt construction experience
- Underground Supervisors ticket
- Minimum 5 years underground belting experience
- Strong leadership
- Ability to work well with others
- Ground control experience
- Proficiency in MS Office, MS Outlook, Internet, Excel
- Strong organizational skills
- Safe work record
- Thorough knowledge of all safety, health, and mine regulations as they pertain to the work and workplace
