JOB TITLE: Inside Sales Manager
REPORTS TO: Vice President of Sales
JOB SUMMARY
Under the general direction of the Vice President of Sales, the Inside Sales Manager sells corporate products or services through the achievement of opportunity-based sales quotas introduces new corporate products or services to established clients and reaches business targets through excellent telephone sales and communication skills. S/he will also develop phone-based revenue generation through the creation of sales leads, initiation of prospect calls, and establishment of ongoing rapport with existing and potential clients, build quotations on standard products, create and process sales orders, and communicate pertinent information on them to clients. S/he will ensure that clients are kept up to date on new product launches, product information and promotions. Integrity, vision, and passion are essential for this role.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Client and Affiliate Relations
- Fulfill and assist with client requests.
- Always ensure client satisfaction and technical product support.
- Educate the client in the pre-sale process, new product launches, product information and promotions.
- Coordinate client training, including developing webinars, and client visits if necessary.
- Develop and present clients with quotes.
- Update ERP with new orders; changes to orders; and cancellations. Communicate these to related departments.
- Manage outbound and inbound accounts.
Sales Plan Development, Implementation and Evaluation
- Liaise closely with the Vice President of Sales to determine necessary strategic sales approaches.
- Communicate with forecast team to forecast new sales and generate targets.
- Negotiate variations in price, delivery and specifications.
- Provide input into the expansion and development of the existing channels.
- Participate in the development of a strategic decision-making process, identify qualifying needs and business objectives.
- Provide weekly updates on sales funnels.
- Conduct cold calling in attempt to increase progression and generate new sales.
- Manage all sales activities using both M2M and Salesforce.
- Fulfill any other responsibilities required by the Vice President of Sales.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Maintain client satisfaction at all times.
- Ensure that clients and channel partners are kept up to date on new product launches, product information and promotions.
- Ensure that all sales functions are performed in accordance with ISO 9001 specifications.
- Keep all client records current and accurate in both M2M and Salesforce.
EDUCATION
- Graduation from a recognized Sales and Marketing program preferably at the Commerce Degree level, if possible, with completion of related technology or electronics courses.
- Strong preference for certification as a Certified Technician (C.Tech.) and/or a Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.)
- Relevant training in inside sales.
EXPERIENCE
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible sales positions including at least five (5) years of client service experience.
- Experience in technical sales in the electronics industry is preferred.
- Versed in electronic fundamentals.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Proficient computer skills using applications such as MS Office, ERPs, and CRMs.
- Ability to troubleshoot.
- Prominent organization and presentation skills.
- Technical writing skills.
- Exceptional communication skills both oral and written, excellent telephone sales and personality skills.
- Well-developed sales skills.
OTHER EQUIPMENT
- Experience with electronic test equipment: oscilloscopes, DVM’s, power supplies, and calibration equipment is preferred.
