Our team is looking for a full-time Jr. Instrumentation & Controls Engineer in Training who is driven to deliver their best work every day and are committed to working collaboratively to achieve shared goals. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Field instrumentation and control system design and control strategy development under the supervision of senior engineers.
- Prepare technical documentation required for the execution of projects, including but not limited to: standard specifications, design criteria, P&IDs, schematics, loop drawings, instrument datasheets, wiring diagrams, layout drawings, installation details, control narratives, network diagrams, cable schedule, instrument list, equipment list
- Development and management of instrumentation and control system procurement packages
- Review shop drawings to ensure conformity with engineering designs
- Assist in field engineering, site support, and commissioning activities at project locations as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited university.
- Registered with or eligible for registration with APEGA as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT).
- 0-4 years of experience within the Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) or Automation Engineering discipline.
- Exposure to projects within the Canadian oil and gas industry, preferably in Alberta, including experience or familiarity with facilities such as Oil Sands, SAGD, conventional gas, terminals, or related operations, is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with applicable Canadian codes, standards, and regulatory requirements is considered an asset.
- Exposure to PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems through academic projects, co-op placements, internships, or industry experience is considered an asset.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
- Available for field work and site visits as needed (approximately 10-20% of the time)
