S2627-68 Librarian & Learning Commons - Cold Lake Elementary School
We are seeking a Full-Time (1.0 FTE) Librarian & Learning Commons to commence as soon as possible. The assignment will be 8:30am - 3:30pm Monday to Friday. The assignment involves managing the operation of the School Library under the supervision of School Administration. The successful applicant will possess the ability to work with both students and staff members. An energetic, personable, team orientated individual is required for this role.
Cold Lake Elementary School is located in the City of Cold Lake with approximately 350 students in grades PreK to 3. Throughout the school year, continued involvement and support from parents, teachers and all staff support the school's mission: "At Cold Lake Elementary, we cherish and nurture the whole child through education with a heart".
Preference Will Be Given To Applicants Who Have
- Basic or advanced certificate in a recognized Post Secondary Librarian Program
- Experience in the Athena, or related library system
- Knowledge of collection management, cataloging and document delivery
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- A familiarity with computers, current technology and internet research skills
- The ability to work with minimal supervision
Training And Skills That Would Be An Asset Include
- Previous experience working in a school library
- Comfortable supervising and providing learning commons and library services
- Creativity, and enthusiasm for creating an inclusive, welcoming learning environment
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families
