Volunteer Role Summary: Revelstoke Mountain Resort (RMR) is seeking dedicated individuals to join our Volunteer Events Crew for the upcoming Winter season. As an Events Volunteer, you will play a crucial role in assisting with various on-mountain events, contributing to the success and enjoyment of our guests.
Volunteer Responsibilities:
As a member of the Events Volunteer Crew, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Event Infrastructure: Set up and dismantle event infrastructure to ensure the smooth execution of on-mountain events.
- Event Registration: Manage event registration tables, ensuring participants are properly checked in and provided with necessary information.
- Course Marshalling: Perform course marshalling duties, which involve starting athletes, monitoring venue boundaries, retrieving lost equipment, and ensuring the safety of participants
- Software Management: Update and maintain registration and scorekeeping software, ensuring accurate and up-to-date event data.
- Safety and Procedures: Adhere to established working procedures, prioritizing safety for yourself and fellow mountain operations staff.
- Guest Interaction: Interact with guests in a positive and helpful manner, providing accurate information about lifts, runs, area facilities/services, operating hours, and current events. Handle guest complaints and resolve situations courteously
Required Qualifications and Abilities:
- Physical Strength: Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs, as some physical tasks are involved in event setup and takedown.
- Skiing or Snowboarding Proficiency: Demonstrated advanced to expert skiing or snowboarding ability to navigate the mountain terrain effectively – please clearly indicate in your application if you are a skier, snowboarder, or both.
- Previous Experience: Previous event or volunteer experience is an asset, but training will be provided.
- This position may require availabilities on evenings and weekends, depending on event schedules.
- Physical stamina to handle on-site event setup and coordination.

Volunteer Commitment:
This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity. Volunteers are expected to contribute reliably to the events team and to follow all applicable safety, operational and resort guidelines. Specific volunteer schedules, commitments and responsibilities may vary depending on operational needs and conditions. A total of 14 volunteer days is required to qualify for a complimentary RMR season pass
