One of a network of provincial Community Health Centres, the NorWest Community Health Centres is a community based, non-profit organization funded by Ontario Health, emphasizing access to primary health care and prevention programs and services.
We are currently seeking 1 Casual Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our clinical team. Working within a client-centred, interdisciplinary environment, the successful candidate will provide clinical care, health promotion, illness prevention, and chronic disease management services to clients within a Community Health Centre setting.
The position has a competitive salary, and the opportunity to participate in the Health Care of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP).
The pay range for this position is $29.182 to $35.157 per hour. Compensation will commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience.
We currently do not use AI to screen resumes.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) with current registration and membership in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of relevant nursing experience.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team environment.
- Ability to provide clinical care in accordance with the College of Nurses of Ontario Standards of Practice.
- Demonstrated assessment skills to identify and respond to the physical, mental health, and psychosocial needs of clients.
- Knowledge of and proficiency in evidence-informed primary care practices, with a focus on health promotion, illness prevention, and harm reduction.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and clinical documentation systems.
- Demonstrated awareness of and sensitivity to the health needs of individuals who experience barriers to accessing care, including those who are under-housed, living with mental health challenges, current or past substance use, complex health conditions, members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, newcomers, and uninsured individuals.
- Valid Ontario Driver's Licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
