About the Role
We are seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to support supplier quality, incoming inspection, component quality, and manufacturing activities within the medical device industry. This role will work closely with suppliers, Design Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to resolve quality issues and drive corrective actions.
Responsibilities
Work directly with suppliers on quality issues, incoming inspection, and corrective actions.
Create and maintain inspection procedures and support development or sourcing of inspection tools.
Support component specifications, testing, qualification, and approval for use.
Collaborate with Design Engineering on component selection, quality, reliability, and manufacturability.
Analyze incoming material defects and communicate quality issues to suppliers.
Review product and component designs for quality and manufacturability.
Investigate supplier-related field failures and lead corrective actions.
Maintain and update quality and engineering documentation, including change orders and BOM updates.
Support compliance with applicable medical device quality and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Supplier Quality Engineering, or Receiving Inspection.
Medical device industry experience strongly preferred.
Hands-on experience working directly with suppliers and applying quality tools.
Experience with supplier quality, incoming inspection, defect analysis, and corrective actions.
Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
Experience with Windchill or other document control systems.
Knowledge of FDA, GMP, ISO 13485, and ISO 14971.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication skills.
