Nuage Recruitment has been exclusively engaged by our client to recruit a Staff Accountant.
About Our Client
Our client is a boutique public accounting firm in North York, registered with CPA Ontario. The firm provides accounting, tax compliance and income tax consultation services to private corporations, high net worth individuals, and immigrants and emigrants. Its work covers business succession and estate planning, investments in Canadian real estate, and effective structuring using resident and non-resident trusts, partnerships and international tax treaties.
The Role
Our client is looking for a Staff Accountant who wants to grow into a strong tax professional. This is a full-time, onsite position at the firm’s North York office.
You will report to both the firm’s Senior Staff Accountant and the firm’s Tax Partner, so you will learn directly from a leading tax practitioner rather than being one of many juniors at a large firm. It is a busy and challenging role, and you will be trusted with real work from day one while supporting the firm as a whole. If you want to accelerate your tax career, this is the place to do it.

- Prepare corporate tax returns with different types of income, including domestic and foreign passive income (with foreign tax credits) and active business income
- Learn to complete T1134, T1141 and T1142 forms
- Prepare relevant tax forms and tax returns for non-residents investing in Canadian real estate
- Communicate with the Canada Revenue Agency and other tax authorities on client matters and status updates
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum one solid tax season of experience in a public accounting firm
- Experience preparing Canadian tax returns
- Experience preparing or reviewing various types of tax returns, including individual, corporate, partnership, trust and GST/HST returns and T1135 forms

- Analytical, with keen attention to important details
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills; able to organize, prepare and present queries and information to the team
- Proficiency in English, with good written and verbal communication skills and responsiveness
- Advanced MS Office skills, particularly Excel, are an asset
Who You Are
You have a passion for building your accounting and tax knowledge, including tax planning. You are eager to learn and improve, willing to put in the time, and ready to “walk the talk.”
