This is an opportunity for youth (age 18-30) in Cambridge Bay to learn more about how Nunavut’s Government Boards work, and get paid to do it!!
The Nunavut Impact Review Board (NIRB) is an Institution of Public Government with responsibilities for the environmental assessment of development and research in Nunavut as set out in the Nunavut Agreement. We play an important role in shaping the future of Nunavut, Canada’s youngest and largest territory.
Are you interested in how organizations work? How Nunavut’s Boards make decisions? Serving your community and protecting the environment? Do you want to share your ideas, and be able to ask questions? If yes, this is a great opportunity for you! The NIRB is reaching out to youth aged 18-30 in Cambridge Bay to help build knowledge of, and interest in, the work that we do, and to help grow our future leaders! Maybe one day YOU will work for the NIRB, or serve as a Board Member.
We are seeking 3 interested young leaders from our community to participate in our upcoming Board meetings from November 17 to 20, 2026. Selection will be random - if you are not selected this time, don’t worry – there will be more chances in the future!
Board Meetings will take place at selected venues with the meeting times to be confirmed prior to the meeting.
Selected candidates are encouraged to participate for each day of the Board meeting.
Preference will be given to Beneficiaries of the Nunavut Agreement.
