The Role
Senior Financial Analyst
Calgary, Alberta
Posting Close Date: October 5, 2026
As part of the Accounting/Finance team, reporting into the Manager, Finance this role will participate in the department’s key accountabilities of external financial reporting, financial accounting, treasury, cash management, internal controls, accounting research, and liaising with external auditors. The ideal candidate is a motivated individual capable of working both independently and in a team within a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
Duties include the following, but are not limited to:
- Prepare and support external reporting requirements, including Management’s Discussion and Analysis, financial statements and notes, the Annual Information Form, Form 40-F, and ESTMA reporting;
- Complete monthly internal reporting requirements;
- Provide support to Treasury and Cash Management functions;
- Prepare and/or review complex accounting calculations, such as depletion, share-based compensation, and impairment assessments;
- Analyze and resolve complex accounting issues;
- Research and analyze International Financial Reporting Standards, as required;
- Perform other financial accounting activities and support departmental projects; and
- Liaise with external auditors.
Qualifications
Required qualifications
- CPA designation
- 10–15 years of relevant accounting and financial reporting experience
- At least five years of direct financial reporting experience in the upstream oil and gas industry
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and experience working for a public company
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
Preferred qualifications
- Approximately 3–5 years of experience with a public accounting firm
