SSR ROV Senior Technicians are responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing ROV systems while providing technical leadership and mentoring personnel to ensure equipment readiness and the safe, efficient execution of offshore operations.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, inspect, test, troubleshoot, and repair ROV systems equipment and associated support equipment.
- Ensure ROV equipment is fully operational and ready to meet project requirements.
- Lead and coordinate maintenance activities during offshore operations.
Diagnose and resolve complex electrical, electronic, hydraulic, mechanical, and software faults. - Conduct ROV launch, recovery, deployment, and subsea intervention operations.
- Execute planned maintenance programs and ensure accurate maintenance records are maintained.
- Mentor ROV Technicians, providing technical guidance and on-the-job training.
Assist the ROV Supervisor in planning, coordinating, and executing offshore operations. - Participate in risk assessments, toolbox talks, permit-to-work processes, and safety initiatives.
- Ensure compliance company procedures, client requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Support equipment mobilization, demobilization, upgrades, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Liaise with offshore and shore-based personnel regarding technical issues, equipment performance, and resource requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and maintenance practices.
- Prepare technical reports, maintenance documentation, and shift handovers
Qualifications
Required
- Highschool Diploma
- Experience as an ROV Sr. Technician (domestic or international).
- Must be able to obtain a valid Passport and any other regionally mandated offshore work requirement documents as appropriate.
Preferred
- Engineering Technologist or Technician diploma.
- Valid CAPP compliant offshore training including Basic Survival Training.
- WHMIS, H2S Alive, Fall Protection and Regulatory Awareness.
