Role Description The Furniture Installer is a full-time, on-site role based in Dartmouth, NS. In this position, the installer assembles, installs, and reconfigures office furniture systems according to plans, manufacturer instructions, and client specifications. Day-to-day tasks include loading and unloading trucks, safely transporting furniture and equipment, performing basic disassembly and reassembly, and ensuring workspaces are clean and ready for use. The role involves following safety procedures, using hand and power tools, collaborating with supervisors and crew members, and communicating courteously with clients on-site. The installer is expected to maintain punctuality, adapt to changing schedules, and support office moves and installations in a variety of commercial environments.
Qualifications
- Ability to safely use basic hand and power tools for furniture assembly, installation, and minor repairs.
- Experience with office furniture systems, space setup, and reading simple floor plans or installation layouts.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, push, and pull furniture and equipment, and to work on feet for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and quality, with the ability to follow instructions and manufacturer guidelines accurately.
- Effective teamwork and communication skills, including respectful interaction with colleagues and clients.
- Reliable time management and organizational skills to meet schedules and complete tasks efficiently.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record are an asset; experience driving commercial vehicles is beneficial.
- Previous experience in moving, installation, construction, or related trades is preferred but not mandatory.
- Commitment to safe work practices and familiarity with workplace health and safety guidelines.
