Why This Role Matters
As the Senior Product & Operations Manager, you play a key role in connecting product strategy, research and development, sourcing, manufacturing, inventory, and customer order fulfillment. Your work ensures Flextile products are developed, produced, sourced, and delivered efficiently while meeting quality, performance, and profitability expectations.
This role is ideal for a hands-on operations and product leader who can manage both strategic priorities and day-to-day execution across manufacturing, lab, supply chain, and administrative functions.
What You’ll Do
Product Strategy & Development
- Develop and manage Flextile’s product portfolio strategy, including market opportunities, competitive products, and make-versus-buy decisions
- Lead new product development, product launches, rationalization, and lifecycle management
- Manage product costing, packaging, artwork, technical documentation, and product updates while monitoring industry trends
Research, Development & Quality
- Lead R&D activities for new and existing products, including raw material evaluation and formulation development
- Oversee product testing, lab operations, quality control programs, and testing protocols
- Maintain TDS/SDS documentation and ensure products meet performance, regulatory, and quality standards
Sourcing, Supply Chain & Procurement
- Lead sourcing strategy for raw materials and finished goods
- Manage supplier relationships, negotiations, performance, and supply issue resolution
- Identify cost-saving opportunities, mitigate supply risks, and review supplier invoices as required
Operations & Manufacturing
- Oversee day-to-day manufacturing and operational activities across Flextile operations
- Manage production scheduling, capacity planning, and effective use of labour and equipment
- Monitor manufacturing costs, operational performance, inventory levels, and compliance with safety, quality, and company standards
Inventory, Logistics & Administration
- Manage raw material and finished goods inventory levels, accuracy, and control processes
- Coordinate shipping and receiving activities, including required documentation
- Oversee order entry, order processing, invoicing, reconciliation, and administrative process improvements
Leadership & People Management
- Lead and develop operational, technical, laboratory, shipping/receiving, and administrative teams
- Provide coaching, training, performance management, and day-to-day leadership
- Establish departmental objectives, performance metrics, and a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, quality, and continuous improvement
Who You Are
- You bring progressive experience in manufacturing, operations, product management, sourcing, or supply chain leadership
- Strong understanding of production management, inventory control, product costing, and operational performance
- Experience leading technical, operational, lab, shipping/receiving, or administrative teams
- Knowledge of product development, quality control, raw materials, formulations, or technical documentation is considered an asset
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to review costs, margins, inventory, production data, and operational KPIs
- Experience managing suppliers, sourcing materials, negotiating costs, and improving supply chain performance
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities across product, operations, quality, sourcing, and administration
- Experience in building materials, tile setting materials, adhesives, manufacturing, chemicals, or related industries is considered an asset
- Post-secondary education in Operations, Business, Supply Chain, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field is preferred
