What You’ll Do

Key Responsibilities:
- Shipping and Receiving Operations: Oversee daily warehouse and shipdock operations, including order picking, staging, loading, dispatch, dock flow, and turnaround times to ensure accurate, safe, timely, and cost-effective order fulfillment.
- Fleet & Transportation Management: Manage fleet readiness, maintenance schedules, inspections, records, servicing, utilization, fuel consumption, and transportation costs to reduce downtime and improve delivery efficiency.
- Driver Management & Delivery Execution: Lead and schedule drivers, monitor delivery performance, ensure proper completion of delivery documentation, and address delivery issues, service failures, and customer concerns promptly.
- Safety & Compliance: Maintain a safe working environment across warehouse, shipdock, and fleet operations by ensuring safe work practices, vehicle/equipment inspections, training, certifications, and corrective actions are completed.
- Inventory, Equipment & Facility Coordination: Ensure materials are stored, staged, identified, and handled properly; maintain warehouse organization; coordinate equipment inspections, maintenance, and repairs; and identify improvements to layout, space utilization, and material flow.
- Performance Management & Continuous Improvement: Monitor operational metrics such as on-time dispatch, order accuracy, loading accuracy, fleet downtime, delivery cost, safety performance, and labour efficiency; identify bottlenecks and implement practical improvements.
- Communication & Collaboration: Communicate effectively with branch management, sales, order desk, customer service, operations leadership, drivers, vendors, and service providers to resolve issues and ensure customer commitments are met.
What You Bring
- You bring 5+ years of experience in warehouse, distribution, transportation, logistics, or shipdock operations
- You have 3+ years of experience managing warehouse teams, drivers, and/or fleet operations
- Strong understanding of warehouse workflow, order picking, staging, loading, dispatch planning, delivery execution, and customer service requirements
- Experience with fleet maintenance, inspections, transportation compliance, vendor coordination, and cost control
- Strong organizational, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in a fast-paced operational environment
- Comfortable using operational systems, reporting tools, and technology to track performance and improve decision-making
- Strong communication, collaboration, leadership, and people-management skills
- Committed to safety, service, continuous improvement, operational accuracy, and cost-effective execution
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred
- Forklift certification, transportation safety training, or supervisory/leadership training is considered an asset
