Role Description This full-time, on-site Sewer Inspection Operator CCTV role is based in Fort Erie, ON. The Sewer Inspection Operator is responsible for operating CCTV inspection equipment to assess sewer and stormwater pipelines, capturing clear video and imagery, and documenting pipe conditions according to company standards. Day-to-day tasks include setting up and safely operating inspection trucks and equipment, entering and updating inspection data, generating basic reports, and coordinating with field crews and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow. The role also involves performing routine equipment checks, following all safety procedures and traffic control requirements, and communicating findings clearly to team members and management. The operator is expected to work outdoors in varying conditions, adhere to project schedules, and maintain a professional presence on client job sites.
Qualifications
- Candidate should possess strong Communication and Customer Service skills to interact clearly with team members, supervisors, and clients on job sites.
- Candidate should possess Dressmaking, Tailoring, and Fitting skills when required for specialized protective or workwear adjustments; transferable attention to detail and manual dexterity are considered assets.
- Ability to learn and operate CCTV inspection systems, cameras, and related software; prior experience with utility, construction, or inspection equipment is an asset.
- Commitment to safety, including adherence to company policies, use of personal protective equipment, and awareness of underground utility hazards.
- Strong observational and documentation skills, with the ability to accurately record pipe conditions and complete inspection reports.
- Capacity to work on-site in varying weather conditions, perform light physical tasks, and stand or walk for extended periods.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience driving and maneuvering commercial or specialty vehicles considered beneficial.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in utility locating, sewer inspection, or construction safety is an asset.
