Role Description The Senior Software Engineer will design, develop, and maintain robust software systems that power Oryn’s AI-driven products. Day-to-day responsibilities include architecting back-end services and APIs, implementing scalable and secure software solutions, reviewing code, and mentoring other engineers. The role involves collaborating with AI researchers, product managers, and stakeholders to translate complex requirements into reliable engineering designs, as well as optimizing performance and ensuring high code quality through testing and documentation. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Mississauga, ON, with regular cross-functional collaboration and opportunities to influence technical direction.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and software architecture.
- Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience building production-grade systems.
- Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development, including APIs, microservices, and database integration.
- Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.
- Experience with modern programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++, or similar) and development tools.
- Background in distributed systems, cloud platforms, or containerization (e.g., AWS, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes) is beneficial.
- Ability to write clean, testable code and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control (e.g., Git).
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives, mentor peers, and collaborate in a multidisciplinary team.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience working with AI/ML systems or data-intensive applications is an asset.
