The Ottawa Student Transportation Authority (OSTA) is responsible for providing home-to-school student transportation on behalf of the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board and the Ottawa Catholic School Board. With a service area covering 2,670 sq. km. and 230 schools, OSTA’s mission is to deliver safe, reliable and efficient transportation solutions to over 74,000 students daily.
OSTA is seeking a dynamic and highly skilled finance professional to join our leadership team. Reporting to the General Manager/Chief Administrative Officer (GM/CAO), the Manager, Finance and Administration leads OSTA’s finance and business operations, including budgeting, financial forecasting, reporting and analysis, procurement and contract management, risk management and other administrative areas. This position oversees the operational integration of OSTA’s business functions ensuring that systems and processes align seamlessly with organizational goals; leads the development and evaluation of relevant policies and procedures; participates in corporate planning, and strategic decision-making; and, represents OSTA to external partners and stakeholders, including member boards’ business officials, the Ministry of Education and others.
Qualifications / Experience:
- Post secondary degree in business, accounting, finance or related field.
- Professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent).
- Minimum 5 to 8 years’ experience in a senior financial management role.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficiency in accounting software, financial management systems.
- Experience with public sector funding, grant management, and reporting is an asset.
Work Schedule: Full-time (35 hours per week/12 months year)
Location: 1547 Merivale Road (100% in person position)
Salary Range: $113,624 - $139,352
