OX CO₂ is looking for an experienced Broker to join our team.
The successful candidate will understand the broader Canadian environmental and energy markets, but their primary focus will be Alberta’s TIER market. They will work directly with buyers, sellers, compliance entities, project developers, energy companies, and other market participants to create liquidity, improve price discovery, and execute transactions.
What you will do:
- Broker transactions in Alberta’s TIER market, including emission performance credits and emission offsets.
- Maintain an active view of bids, offers, market depth, pricing, spreads, compliance demand, and available supply.
- Develop and manage trusted relationships with buyers, sellers, traders, compliance teams, and senior decision-makers.
- Bring counterparties together, negotiate commercial terms, and move transactions from market interest through execution.
- Provide clients with clear and useful market intelligence.
- Coordinate pricing, trade documentation, approvals, confirmations, and post-trade follow-up.
- Maintain accurate, auditable records of market activity and executed transactions.
- Monitor regulatory and market developments affecting TIER and the broader Canadian compliance market.
What we are looking for:
- Direct previous experience as a Broker in Canadian and USA environmental markets, physical oil, or natural gas.
- Strong understanding of brokerage, price discovery, market liquidity, bid-and-offer management, negotiation, and transaction execution.
- Meaningful knowledge of Alberta’s TIER program and its market participants.
- Broader familiarity with Canadian or USA compliance and environmental markets.
- An established network of credible industry relationships.
- The judgment and discretion required to handle confidential market and counterparty information.
- A disciplined approach to trade records, follow-through, and client communication.
- The ability to communicate directly, build trust, and perform in fast-moving markets.

This is not an entry-level position and it is not intended for someone looking to transition into brokerage for the first time.
