Original job description

Mobile Instrument Service & Repair (MISR) is the largest surgical instrument repair company in Canada. Since revolutionizing the Canadian healthcare industry in 1982 by launching the country’s first on-site mobile repair lab, we have grown into a trusted, comprehensive partner for surgical instrument repair and preventative maintenance.

As a member of the Pacific Surgical group of innovative healthcare companies, we owe our success to an unwavering dedication to our customers and, most importantly, our people. We empower our team to thrive, grow, and make a real impact on Canadian healthcare.

We are seeking a full-time Customer Service Representative based near Oshawa, Ontario. Reporting directly to the President, you will serve as a critical point of contact for our clients, ensuring high-quality support and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Support: Provide professional verbal and written communications while building sustainable relationships and trust with customer accounts through proactive interaction.

Order & Financial Management: Generate customer quotes, secure repair approvals, process invoices, and maintain associated paperwork with high accuracy.

Record Keeping: Update repair order forms, maintain electronic tracking logs, keep detailed records of customer interactions, and systematically file documentation.

Issue Resolution: Respond to customer inquiries or complaints efficiently and assist in their resolution.

Commercial Support: Assist management with responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and other competitive bid opportunities.

Quality & Compliance: Develop a strong understanding of our Quality Management System, adhere to corporate policies, and identify areas for process improvement.

Operational Assistance: Support broader facility needs - including shipping and receiving tasks - as requested by the Office Manager, Master Repair Technician, or President.

Safety & Ethics: Maintain a safe working environment for staff and customers, representing MISR ethically and professionally at all times.

Qualifications and Skills

Prioritization: Ability to independently prioritize a diverse task list to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills suitable for a corporate healthcare supplier environment.

Detail-Oriented: High level of accuracy in data entry, document management, and electronic logging.

Adaptability: A proactive mindset with a willingness to take ownership of new requests and implement value-added process improvements.

Team Player: Highly team-oriented with a positive attitude, operating as a constructive member of a hardworking group.

Location: Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of Oshawa, Ontario.

What We Offer

We offer a stable, competitive remuneration package designed to support your long-term growth, including a predictable base salary between $48,000–$60,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications. Compensation includes a comprehensive health benefits plan and the option for RRSP matching.

Equal Opportunity Statement

At Pacific Surgical, we care about who you are, not just what is on your resume. We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer in Ontario, which means we welcome and celebrate diversity in all its forms. If you need any accommodations to make our hiring process more accessible under the Ontario Human Rights Code and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), just let us know - we are happy to help!

Please note: Only short-listed candidates will be contacted. No phone inquiries, please.
