- Job Title: Maintenance Technician
- Department: Maintenance
- Location: Windsor, Ontario
- Shift / Status: Full‑time, rotating shifts with on‑call and overtime as required
- Reporting To: Plant Manager / Maintenance Lead
Why This Role Matters
In this role, you help keep our machines, building systems, and facility in safe, reliable working order. You carry out preventive and corrective maintenance so production can hit its targets without unplanned downtime.
Core Responsibilities
- Execute preventive and predictive maintenance tasks on plant equipment and building systems according to the maintenance schedule (e.g., CNC machines, compressors, HVAC, cranes, forklifts).
- Perform daily inspections of critical equipment and utilities; record findings and escalate abnormal conditions.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, basic electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues on production and support equipment within your skill level; escalate to licensed trades or external contractors when required.
- Assist with repairs, adjustments, and component replacements to minimize equipment downtime.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and QMS entries to document work performed, parts used, and equipment history.
- Support coolant management, including top‑ups, swaps, and monitoring concentration levels.
- Manage scrap chip bins and coordinate disposal or recycling activities as directed.
- Perform routine inspections of building safety systems (e.g., cranes, forklifts, fire extinguishers) and document findings.
- Assist with building and grounds maintenance, including minor repairs, painting, basic plumbing, and housekeeping of maintenance areas.
- Enforce and follow lockout/tagout procedures and safe working at heights or in confined spaces when applicable.
- Support 5S in maintenance and production areas; ensure tools and spare parts are stored and labelled correctly.
- Help coordinate and support external contractors on site, ensuring work is done safely and to specification.
- Assist with basic programming or parameter adjustments on equipment within your training (e.g., HMI settings, simple optic programming).

- 100% of scheduled preventive maintenance tasks completed on time and properly documented.
- Month‑over‑month reduction in unplanned equipment downtime.
- 90% of facility maintenance requests addressed within target timelines.
- 100% of maintenance data and equipment history updated in the QMS/maintenance system within 24 hours of work completion.
- Zero maintenance‑related safety incidents or lockout/tagout violations.
- Positive feedback from production teams on responsiveness and communication.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Technical diploma/certificate in Industrial Maintenance, Electromechanics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2–5 years of experience in machine repair/maintenance in a manufacturing or mould‑making environment.
- Strong mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills; basic electrical knowledge an asset.
- Experience with preventive maintenance programmes and basic safety compliance.
- Capable of operating forklifts, overhead cranes, and other industrial equipment (certifications required or willingness to obtain).
- Basic computer skills for logging activities in maintenance/QMS systems.
- Valid driver’s licence with a clean record.
- Able to lift up to 23 kg (50 lb), stand for extended periods, and work in varying temperatures.
Physical & Work Environment
- Work primarily in the plant around moving machinery, tools, and mobile equipment.
- Stand, walk, climb ladders, and work in awkward positions to access equipment.
- Lift and carry tools, parts, and materials up to 23 kg (50 lb).
- Exposure to noise, oils, coolants, and temperature changes; PPE (safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and other task‑specific PPE) is mandatory.
Compensation: Start from CAD $30/Hour
