Paradox Security Systems is looking for an experienced Buyer to support procurement and supplier management, with a particular focus on the Chinese market.
We are especially looking for someone with strong purchasing, sourcing, sales, or supplier-management experience who understands the Chinese market and business culture, can negotiate effectively with suppliers, and is comfortable taking initiative, solving problems, and managing priorities independently.
Paradox has over 30 years of experience and exports products to more than 65 countries worldwide. We design and manufacture our own hardware and software, working with suppliers and partners in international markets.
Main responsibilities:
- Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable and competitive suppliers, with a strong focus on the Chinese market.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective suppliers and leverage knowledge of the Chinese market, business culture, and negotiation practices.
- Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, lead times, quality requirements, and supply conditions to secure competitive costs and favorable business terms.
- Research and identify new sourcing opportunities and alternative suppliers, particularly in China, to optimize costs and reduce supply risks.
- Work closely with engineering teams to source electronic components, parts, and materials required for product development and production.
- Obtain and analyze quotations, compare sourcing options, and recommend solutions based on cost, availability, lead time, and operational requirements.
- Follow up on suppliers, orders, material availability, delivery schedules, delays, and supply issues, and proactively find solutions to minimize operational impacts.
- Support international purchasing and logistics activities, including transportation, importation, documentation, and delivery requirements.
- Work closely with engineering, production, technical maintenance, and other internal departments to respond to purchasing needs and resolve procurement-related issues.
- Prepare and review purchase orders and contribute to the continuous improvement of procurement processes.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, sourcing, supplier management, sales, or business development is required.
- Professional proficiency in Mandarin, both spoken and written, is required.
- Strong knowledge of the Chinese market, business culture, and negotiation practices.
- Experience working and negotiating with Chinese suppliers.
- Knowledge of international logistics, import/export processes, and global supply chain practices.
- Strong communication, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proactive and resourceful, with a strong sense of responsibility, initiative, and willingness to contribute.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and collaborate effectively with internal departments and suppliers.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is required. Knowledge of French is an asset.
