Role Description The Maintenance Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Cambridge, ON, responsible for overseeing all maintenance activities within the milling facility. This role manages a maintenance team, assigns daily tasks, and ensures equipment is inspected, serviced, and repaired in a timely manner to support uninterrupted operations. The Maintenance Manager develops and implements preventive maintenance programs, monitors maintenance schedules, and coordinates with production teams to minimize downtime. Daily responsibilities include troubleshooting mechanical issues, managing maintenance inventory, working with external contractors when required, and maintaining accurate maintenance records. The role also involves enforcing safety procedures, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, and supporting capital projects related to equipment upgrades and facility improvements.
Qualifications
- Strong supervisory skills to lead maintenance staff, coordinate workload, and support performance management.
- Proficiency in equipment maintenance and maintenance & repair to diagnose issues and ensure reliable operation of milling and plant systems.
- Experience with preventive maintenance and maintenance management to plan, implement, and optimize maintenance programs and schedules.
- Solid understanding of industrial machinery, mechanical and electrical systems, and related tools and technologies.
- Commitment to health and safety standards, with experience applying safe work practices in an industrial setting.
- Ability to read technical drawings, equipment manuals, and maintenance documentation accurately.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a high-demand environment.
- Effective communication skills for working with cross-functional teams, external vendors, and leadership.
- Relevant technical diploma, trade certification, or engineering background in a maintenance-related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in food manufacturing, milling, or similar industrial environments is an asset.
