Role Description The Human Resources Officer is a full-time, on-site role based at Pathogenia Lab in Dorval, QC. This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day HR operations, including administering HR policies and procedures, supporting recruitment processes, and collaborating with managers to develop and update job descriptions.
The Human Resources Officer will handle employee relations matters, coordinate onboarding and training activities, maintain HR records and documentation, and ensure compliance with applicable employment laws and company standards. The role also involves supporting performance management processes, assisting with benefits and payroll-related queries, and contributing to initiatives that promote a positive, safe, and inclusive workplace culture aligned with Pathogenia Lab’s mission.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in Human Resources (HR) and HR Management, including day-to-day HR operations and support.
- Strong understanding of Quebec and Canadian regulations and HR Policies and employment legislation, with the ability to apply them consistently and fairly.
- Experience in Employee Relations, including conflict resolution, performance discussions, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Ability to develop, review, and maintain clear and accurate Job Descriptions in collaboration with hiring managers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse teams in a laboratory and manufacturing environment.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills, with attention to detail and confidentiality in handling HR records.
- Proficiency with HR information systems and standard office software; experience in a regulated or food safety-related industry is an asset.
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related field; HR certification (e.g., CHRP/CPHR or equivalent) is an advantage.
