Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Process Engineer with a strong background in electrical power systems, short-circuit studies, protection and relay systems, and coordination studies. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience developing and executing test procedures and working with SCADA and Protection & Control (P&C) systems.
The successful candidate will support testing, documentation, and technical activities associated with protection and relay systems while collaborating with engineering and project teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and support short-circuit studies and analysis related to electrical power systems.
- Work with protection and relay systems, including testing and validation activities.
- Develop, review, and execute test procedures for protection and relay systems.
- Perform coordination studies to support reliable and effective protection system operation.
- Support testing, troubleshooting, and validation of electrical protection systems.
- Work with SCADA and Protection & Control (P&C) systems as required.
- Review, upload, and maintain test procedures and technical documentation.
- Analyze test results and identify issues or discrepancies.
- Collaborate with engineering, testing, commissioning, and project teams to resolve technical issues.
- Prepare and maintain accurate technical documentation, test records, and reports.
- Travel to project sites, as required, for testing and project activities.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of relevant Test/Relay experience.
- Strong experience with short-circuit studies.
- Strong knowledge of protection and relay systems.
- Strong background in coordination studies.
- Hands-on experience developing and executing test procedures.
- Ability to review, upload, and manage test procedures and technical documentation.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively in an onsite environment in Markham, ON.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 25%, based on project requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SCADA systems.
- Experience with Protection & Control (P&C) systems.
- Experience supporting testing and commissioning activities.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering and project teams.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple project requirements.
