We are hiring for this position out of our Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary offices. Successful candidates who apply outside of these areas will be expected to relocate and reside in a location that is within a commutable distance.

You are a technical leader with extensive experience architecting, optimizing, and governing a broad range of applications and solutions in the banking industry. About the qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience
- 8+ years of technical experience in areas such as application development, systems engineering
- 5+ years of solution architecture experience: discern requirements and solutions, assess technology, risk and cost / benefits, design and integrate enterprise scale systems, conduct architecture reviews
- Demonstrated architecture experience in critical banking systems within the financial services industry, e.g.
- Deposits systems
- Payment rails
- Accounts reconciliation etc.
- Strong software architecture skills: web development / API design, security, programming languages and SQL, data modelling and databases, systems integration patterns, architecture styles, domain-driven design
- Good knowledge of cloud platforms, infrastructure technology stack, DevOps
- SDLC delivery experience with both project and Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Ability to think strategically and facilitate architectural decisions / recommendations to meet immediate needs and longer-term enterprise objectives
- Ability to learn and understand new toolsets and products quickly
- Solution-focused, takes initiative to tackle problems effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- TOGAF, AWS or Azure cloud certification is a plus
About the day-to-day:
- Lead solution architecture activities and govern implementation of major initiatives including assurance of third-party deliverables
- Create, maintain, and organize architecture documents and artefacts to capture current / future state architecture and share knowledge
- Participate in Architecture Review Board or peer review of architecture design and advise on new initiatives
- Develop technology roadmaps and architecture standards to guide and optimize technical capabilities and applications deployed in the enterprise
- Coach and mentor peers on solution design, best practices, technological approaches, etc.
- Explore new innovations, conduct technology proof-of-concept, and drive adoption of new and emerging capabilities
- Interfaces with industry on current trends in business and information technology

About the work environment:

Compensation:
Peoples Group is pleased to offer employees a competitive annual salary plus a discretionary profit share opportunity. Salary for this position will vary between $145,000 and $170,000 per year depending on the knowledge, skills, abilities and experience that the chosen candidate possess. As part of our recruiting process, shortlisted candidates will be asked their salary expectations for this position.
