Pay Rate: $80/hr Inc.
About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager – SharePoint & Microsoft 365 Migration to lead complex, client-facing technology migration and transformation initiatives within an established PMO environment.
This is a senior delivery role responsible for providing end-to-end project leadership, from initiation and planning through implementation, transition, stabilization, and project closure. The successful candidate will manage complex enterprise projects involving multiple technical and business workstreams, ensuring delivery remains on schedule, within budget, and aligned with client expectations.
The ideal candidate brings a strong background in enterprise technology migrations, SharePoint and Microsoft 365 environments, project governance, financial management, risk management, and executive-level stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Project & SharePoint Migration Delivery
- Lead complex SharePoint migration and Microsoft 365 transformation initiatives in partnership with technical and business teams.
- Provide end-to-end project ownership from project initiation through implementation, transition, stabilization, and closure.
- Develop and maintain integrated project plans, schedules, milestones, dependencies, resource plans, budgets, and forecasts.
- Coordinate technical delivery, business readiness, testing, validation, acceptance, cutover, and transition activities.
- Develop migration and transition strategies designed to minimize business disruption.
- Monitor project progress and proactively manage dependencies, risks, issues, decisions, and deliverables.
Project Governance & PMO
- Lead multiple complex workstreams involving business units, technical teams, vendors, and external partners.
- Establish project scope, objectives, deliverables, success criteria, governance structures, and decision-making processes.
- Facilitate project governance meetings, steering committees, executive reviews, and go/no-go decisions.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including: Project plans, RAID logs, Status reports, Decision logs, Change requests, Cutover plans, Transition and handover documentation
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary project contact for client and project-related matters.
- Establish strong relationships with executive sponsors, business owners, technical leaders, site owners, vendors, and project stakeholders.
- Provide clear, proactive communication and transparent reporting on project status, risks, decisions, and dependencies.
- Partner with change management and communications teams to support organizational readiness, adoption, and successful transition.
Financial & Commercial Management
- Manage project budgets, forecasts, resource utilization, and financial performance.
- Monitor project costs and resource requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage scope and change requests when project volumes, assumptions, timelines, or requirements change.
- Identify potential commercial impacts and ensure appropriate escalation and governance.
Risk, Issue & Quality Management
- Identify, assess, track, and mitigate project, technical, operational, security, compliance, and stakeholder-readiness risks.
- Establish quality expectations, acceptance criteria, decision points, and handover requirements.
- Ensure issues are escalated appropriately with clear options and recommendations.
- Maintain strong project controls to ensure deliverables meet agreed requirements.
Team Leadership
- Lead cross-functional project teams that may include SharePoint architects, migration specialists, engineers, business analysts, change management resources, security teams, consultants, and external partners.
- Provide direction, accountability, and coordination across multiple project workstreams.
- Collaborate with Sales, Delivery, Finance, and technical leadership to achieve successful client outcomes.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 12+ years of project management experience, with at least 5 years leading complex, client-facing technology projects or programs.
- Demonstrated experience leading enterprise technology migrations and/or Microsoft 365 transformation initiatives.
- Proven experience managing complex projects involving multiple workstreams, technical dependencies, vendors, and senior stakeholders.
- Strong financial and commercial management experience, including: Budget management, Forecasting, Resource planning, Utilization management, Margin management
- Strong understanding of project governance, risk and issue management, change control, testing, cutover, and transition to operations.
- Experience using Microsoft Project, Microsoft Planner, or equivalent project management tools.
- Excellent executive communication, facilitation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in complex enterprise environments with competing priorities and dependencies.
Strongly Preferred
- Direct experience leading large-scale SharePoint migrations within complex enterprise environments.
- Experience with SharePoint Online, SharePoint on-premises, Microsoft 365, or related content migration initiatives.
- Experience coordinating migration planning, execution, validation, cutover, transition, and post-migration stabilization.
- Strong enough SharePoint and Microsoft 365 technical knowledge to effectively communicate with architects, engineers, migration specialists, and business stakeholders.
- PMP or equivalent project management certification.
Nice to Have
- Experience working within energy, utilities, oil & gas, or similar enterprise environments.
- Experience with broader Microsoft 365 and cloud transformation initiatives.
- Experience supporting M&A, organizational consolidation, or enterprise integration projects.
- Experience working on large-scale, multi-year programs.
- Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid project delivery methodologies.
