Our client, a leading manufacturer of specialized mobile equipment and truck-mounted systems, is looking for a skilled and hands-on Truck Body Assembler to join their growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced assembler with a background in truck body, trailer, or heavy equipment assembly. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling and installing truck and trailer bodies while ensuring quality, accuracy, and safety throughout the build process.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and install truck bodies, trailer bodies, frames, panels, doors, compartments, and related components.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, assembly instructions, and equipment specifications.
- Measure, align, fit, and secure components to ensure proper assembly and finished product quality.
- Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, cutting tools, and shop equipment during the assembly process.
- Install structural components, brackets, supports, hardware, and other truck body components.
- Perform drilling, cutting, grinding, fastening, and other fabrication tasks as required.
- Inspect completed assemblies to ensure proper fit, alignment, finish, and overall quality.
- Work closely with hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical assemblers to ensure all systems are properly integrated into the truck body.
- Identify and correct assembly issues, defects, or dimensional inconsistencies.
- Follow established safety procedures, quality standards, and production requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Complete assigned builds within established production schedules and quality expectations.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Truck Body Assembler, Trailer Assembler, Heavy Equipment Assembler, or similar role.
- Hands-on experience building or assembling truck and/or trailer bodies is strongly preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with structural and mechanical components.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and assembly instructions.
- Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, drills, grinders, and other shop equipment.
- Experience with measuring, fitting, aligning, drilling, cutting, and fastening materials.
- Welding or fabrication experience is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to troubleshoot assembly issues and make appropriate adjustments.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing or heavy equipment assembly environment.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while meeting production deadlines.
- Commitment to workplace safety and maintaining a clean and organized work area.
